UPDATE: pre-sales have ended but tickets will be available at the door for $15.
Save the date! The High 48s have booked a concert to celebrate the release of our upcoming CD “Great Northern Railroad” on May 2nd at the O’Shaughnessy Education Center Auditorium on the campus of the University of St. Thomas (IMPORTANT: NOT the O’Shaughnessy on the campus of St. Catherine’s…directions here).
Joining us will be alt-country giant Robbie Fulks and mandolinist extraordinaire Don Stiernberg, who will close out the evening with a duo set, featuring original songs and classic “brother” duets in the spirit of the brothers Louvin, Delmore, et al.
We’re super excited to have Robbie and Don on hand for our CD release show. They’ve been playing regular duo gigs at the Hideout in their hometown of Chicago, but they rarely go on the road as a duo, so this is a rare treat. They’re both killer bluegrass pickers and are steeped in the genre.
And small world: Robbie and Don are both alums of Special Consensus, as is the 48s’ very own Marty Marrone.
Tickets are on-sale now: Click Here to visit the Brown Paper Tickets event page.
More info forthcoming, but in the meantime, here’s a little preview of the Robbie and Don show:
