Here's what people are saying about the High 48s

I really like good bluegrass bands, especially those with a
little character, identification, and individuality. That's what the
the High 48s are. A fine Minnesota band, these guys are going to
become popular on the bluegrass circuit if they aren't careful.

Keep it up High 48s -- you will become a bluegrass band to be reckoned with.

Bob Everhart, Tradition Magazine

[...]there's plenty to love on [the High 48s] self-titled debut CD, which they're promoting Saturday at the Cedar Cultural Center. Led by brothers Chad and Derek Johnson (ex-Best Fight Story), the band's ace in the hole is veteran fiddler Eric Christopher, who adds ample twang and melody to the disc's originals and choice covers.

Chris Riemenschneider, Minneapolis Star Tribune

The High 48s are an energetic, very polished group from Minneapolis
that are guaranteed to get the crowd moving. They have an excellent sound
rooted in traditional bluegrass with a country twist, and their fantastic fiddle tunes are not to be missed.

Karen Sonnenblick, President, Southern Wisconsin Bluegrass Music Association, Inc.

The High 48s are a professional group of musicians who play well, sing well,
and put on a very entertaining show. The audience loved them! Their songs include traditional bluegrass, original tunes and some gospel. Their harmonies are really tight. They made a lot of new fans in Wisconsin!

Linda Sandersen, President, Milwaukee Area Bluegrass Music Association, Badgerland Bluegrass Classic

You all put on an excellent show in Hutchinson today. I've never been an obssessive bluegrass fan, but I like folk, old-school country and alt-country. Your take on "Sin City" was excellent. I've always liked the great harmonies on the original version and you kept that, but took the song in a different direction. Your cover blows Beck's version
right out of the water and I was happy to find it's included on your CD. Best of luck and I can't wait to see you perform again.

Jorge Sosa, Hutchinson Daily Leader

Just wanted to thank you again for coming to Bemidji. We enjoyed your concert here so much and have heard lots of good comments about the show!! Be sure to thank the other guys too and we hope you can come back again.

Arlan Roline, Backporch Bluegrass, KBSB, Bemidji

Our heartfelt gratitude is sent to each of you. You are awesome!! As I sit here trying to put into words how critical your contribution and your part was in making the wedding a most exquisite, touching, lively and joyous occasion, my thoughts go to seeing and hearing you all as we walked to hearing you as we recessed, to hearing and feeling your lively spirit during the reception—it was absolutely perfect!!

Kathy and Jim (parents of the bride)

Thanks so much for sharing your amazing talents with our guests on our wedding day. You guys will definitely be one of the highlights of the event! Derek, thanks to you especially for coordinating tunes and for your suggestions on the music. We are very lucky to have you all perform at the wedding.

Laura Y.

You were a big hit at our wedding! Thank you so much for being a part of it with your music. Everyone kept telling us how perfect you were. And you were! We were so lucky to have you.

Jaspar and Kale

We can't thank you folks enough for helping us make our wedding so awesome. The ceremony music was perfectly sweet, and you could tell by all the dancing that everyone loved the tunes during the dance. Lots of people have told us the High 48s were the best band they're ever heard at a wedding -- we tend to agree! Thanks again for everything.
